Our Story
Genoese Foods was established in 1993 in Levin, Horowhenua - a region so abundant in growers, market gardens and artisan food producers, it is known as the “Food Bowl of New Zealand”.
A family business with down-to-earth Kiwi values, we pride ourselves on the authenticity of our products and offer a range of Pesto and dips found in homes and restaurants across the country, as well as creating Pesto solutions for manufacturers.
There’s little wonder we’re the number one retail Pesto brand in New Zealand, because Genoese is not just any Pesto, it is crafted to a traditional recipe, but is used every day in innovative ways to elevate cooking and eating experiences – making delicious food easy.
We start with flavorsome basil, grown sustainably right here in Aotearoa, which is nurtured from seed to ensure only the best fresh basil leaves are gathered for our special Pesto recipe. We then blend it in small batches with carefully selected ingredients, creating the ultimate Basil Pesto – with no compromise on quality.
